The lunch session with D-I official, Mike Scyphurs, discusses how to deal with coaches and offers tips on what not to do as well as how to be pro-active in managing a smooth game.

A very animated Mike demonstrates how not to give a coach a technical.

Campers enjoyed a hamburger lunch with chips, salads and cold drinks, all included in the camp.

In the afternoon, Bob Williams, Camp Counselor, offers instruction while the game is in progress.

...and during a timeout.

Bob helping a camper break a bad habit.

Those who had Bob as counselor received very intense training; he would stop at nothing to help a ref break a bad habit or develop better mechanics. Here, he is explaining the 3-step process of calling a violation or foul and how to pause, scan the scene, communicate with your partner, etc.

Going over video with campers.

Bob gave each ref under his instruction the very best he had to offer.

Games were part of the high school varsity boy's team camp held every year in Bakersfield, featuring some of the top talent in California.

Bring your "A" game!

The CCBOC is truly a national caliber camp; James Foley, from Wisconsin, our most distant camper, concentrates on his game.

Campers came from all over the country; California, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin and North Dakota.

James said he finally mastered 3-man mechanics in Bakersfield, commenting that this will definitely help him move up in his home association in Wisconsin.

Anthony "Quinn" Crozier (sitting), a longtime camp counselor with the CCBOC and current D-I official in the Big West and Pac 10, shares a lighthearted moment with Mark Nanamura, assignor for the Tulare/Kings County CBOA Unit.

Bobby Pultz, another longtime counselor for the CCBOC, D-I official with the WAC and Big West conferences, gives positive feedback during games.

As do all the counselors, Bobby observes, offers critique in mid-game and then...

...goes over video to examine play calling skills, positioning and mechanics.

All counselors narrate critique on camper's personal video via high-end Audio-Technica brand wireless microphone recorded as the game is in progress.  All campers receive this video to take home.

Here, counselor Chris Ruiz, D-I official with the Big West narrates critique.

All games are recorded using the latest video and audio equipment.

Two camera operators are on one end of the gym, and one on the other end to capture the action at all times.

Deep-pit barbecue beef brisket for dinner!  It was delicious!  Again, all included in the price of the camp!

Deep-pit barbecue, beans, salad, rolls, and lemon cake for dessert!

See you next year!
